Parent-Child Room at the Institute of Management, Economics and Law

Balancing work, studies, and family is an important concern at Clausthal University of Technology. To strengthen the university's family-friendliness, a parent-child room is now available for students and employees at the Institute of Management, Economics and Law.

The parent-child room is located at Julius-Albert-Str. 2, Room 032, and offers parents the opportunity to bring their children to their workplace or place of study and supervise them personally when short-notice childcare arrangements fall through and no alternative care can be organized. The room is also intended as a retreat for pregnant women as well as for breastfeeding, changing, and feeding children, and can be used by parents and children as a shared break room or for bridging periods.

Room 032 is on the ground floor and can be reached via the main entrance of the institute (Haus 1). The parent-child room is open Monday to Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

The parent-child room is equipped with:

  • a seating area
  • toys for free play
  • a sink
  • a nursing chair with reclining function
  • a changing facility

The key can be borrowed from the internal library of the Institute of Management, Economics and Law (Julius-Albert-Straße 2, Rooms 210, 211) during regular opening hours, following prior registration and acknowledgement of the usage policy.

The conditions set out in the usage policy apply within the room.
