Welcome to the Institute of Management, Economics and Law (IMEL)
Since January 1, 2026, the IMEL at Clausthal University of Technology brings together expertise in economics and law under one roof. Together, we work on solutions to key issues for the future—particularly in the context of the circular economy and sustainable transformation. We combine research in management, economics, and law with technical developments and digital innovations, thereby shaping well-founded responses to the transformation of energy and raw material systems. In doing so, we focus equally on viable economic concepts and reliable legal frameworks.
We also place a special emphasis on the design and analysis of digital transformation processes—from data-driven business models to the role of digital technologies in sustainable value creation systems.
IMEL stands for analytical strength, innovative methods, and a close integration of research, teaching, and practice. This creates new opportunities for collaboration and profile-building for students, researchers, and partners.
